Colin is a Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing at Salem Church Middle School in Chesterfield County Public Schools. He has taught Deaf and Hard of Hearing students on the elementary level for five years and is entering his fourth year on the secondary level. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Master of Science degree in Deaf Education from Radford University. As a Deaf person, who grew up in a signing hearing family and in the mainstream setting of public school system, he has become fluent in terms of being able to incorporate various popular English idioms/phrases into American Sign Language.
